2009! What’s Next?

2008 was a very successful year.  It was also very stressful with a son getting married, and a death in the family.  But we got through it all and are looking forward to 2009 and wondering what it will bring.

Requests to apply to art shows and festivals have already started to come in and I have actually applied to two of them.  The members of the Beyond the Valley Studio Tour (and I am one of the group) have had their first meeting to start the plans for the upcoming Spring Tour  May 30 and 31.  My guest will again be Michelle Guitard, a fine painter. My own Spring Open House and Sale is scheduled for the first week end of March, and I am working on that venture. Do check my Events page for the dates and times.   Right now I am completing custom orders that were scheduled for this month.  I always find this stressful as I worry that what is in my head will not always suit what is in someone else’s.  I must say this has never been a problem–but you never know!  I guess, by nature, I am just a worry wort.  I have spent several weeks organizing my gemstones and getting re-acquainted with what I have in stock.  I generally buy what I love but do not always work with it right away, so this organization is always a pleasure and certainly is inspiring, and occasionally surprising!  I have beefed up my supply of sterling findings and have also found a new supplier which is great.  So what can I say except that I am really looking forward to creating new pieces.  My inventory is much depleted since 2008 proved to be so very successful.  It was truly amazing and I am very gratified at the success.

I have readied some pieces for the Dundas Valley School of Art auction which is in April.  For the last several years, I have contributed jewellery to this worthwhile fundraiser.  Do take the time to go.  Lots of great art to be found!! Check the website at www.dvsa.ca

Well, back to work!  Lots to do and so little time!!
