One Month Later………..

July 25, 2009 | Filed under: Uncategorized

It is hard to believe that the end of July is well on its way. It hasn’t been a great summer weatherwise unfortunately. I have been very busy completing my custom orders that seemed to be flying in. It is very gratifying to be able to do this–in other words, it is nice to be wanted!
I mentioned in a previous post that I was expecting large pearls and more drusy. This has happened. My inventory now consists of 14 to 16 mm. baroque freshwater pearls, as well as chalcedony drusy which is a wonderful shade of pale blue-just exquisite. As well, I have some extraordinary pieces of lapis lazuli. Blue is one of the colours for the fall and I am ready.
I also have more vintage metal beads (there is some silver in them) from Saudi Arabia. These pieces were used for jewellery or as decorative elements on clothing. Really lovely shapes which will look wonderful with gemstones. I have used these grey metal Saudi pieces with chalcedony (blue) and prenite (green)-gives a piece an extra zing.

There will be new pieces added to my gallery in the next little while. Do check it out. I did promise a post about pearls and that is coming soon.
My next event is in Grimsby on Sept. 12th at the Festival of Art. Details on my events page.
