Christmas is fast approaching!  Just a reminder that if you are looking for a beautiful gift or a piece of jewellery for a special event give me a call.  My studio is open by appointment.   As well,  I have some of my jewellery on display and of course for sale at the Carnegie Art Gallery on King St. in Dundas.

Open House response was GREAT!-thank you!

December 12, 2007 | Filed under: Uncategorized

The response to my Christmas Open House and Sale was terrific!  Thank you to all who supported me and visited my home studio.  Thank you also to my friends and family who helped during this 3 day event.  Many many pieces of jewellery went to new homes.  I wondered if 3 days was too much time but it wasn’t and next year I will allot the same number to my Open House again.  I am also thinking of having a spring sale at my home studio.  I have several bookings for 2008 already so I will see how things go.

PAVLO POTTERY which is now located in Rockton is having a Christmas sale until Dec. 16th with 25% off all their pottery.  It is easy to get to from Dundas-just take #8 highway until you see the sign for Rockton.  The pottery is on the main street.  If you have been to the Rockton Fair then you know exactly where to go.  Pavlo and his wife Oksana make wonderful, colourful and functional pieces.  I purchased a large plate for cheese and an exquisite tile which had been decorated by Oksana in beautiful colours.   Pavlo Pottery is also part of the Beyond the Valley Studio Tour-coming up at the end of May.

I had an interesting phone call from a man who said that his wife wanted a pair of earrings to match a necklace that had been purchased for her at the Cactus Festival in 2006.  I remember that necklace very well and he was amazed that I did.  Custom work is something that I like to do and these projects are increasing in number.  I have done jewellery for several wedding parties which is a lot of fun for me.  It is often easier for the wedding group as pieces are made to match outfits.  I do have a fabulous selection of gemstones in a myriad of shapes and colours.

One woman told me that she wears the same black dress but gets a fabulous piece of jewellery to accessorize it which then gives it a brand new look.  Great Idea!

Carnegie Art Gallery Small Works Exhibit

December 2, 2007 | Filed under: Uncategorized

The Carnegie Art Gallery had the opening of its Small Works Exhibit.  Gallery artists as well as guests have provided pieces of their work in an exhibit which runs until Dec. 31st.  This is an opportunity to purchase something unique and exquisite as a gift or for oneself.  I am happy to say that my jewellery is part of this exhibit.  A bonus for gallery members is a 10% discount.  Now that is good shopping.

December 1 Already!

December 1, 2007 | Filed under: Uncategorized

December is definitely a crunch month.  Too much to do, not enough time.  My Open House at 67 Creighton Road in Dundas, is coming up starting this Friday December 7th at 2 p.m.    I have been very busy and will have an excellent selection in terms of colour, style,  and design.  Jewellery is a lovely gift for Christmas or for any event.  It can add that extra bit of oomph and glamour to an outfit for an evening out.  It can add drama to a business outfit.  But most of all it can add a bit of beauty to your life.

Two other artists in Dundas will also have their studios open the weekend of December 7th.

Scott Barnim Pottery at 15 Park St. East, will be open for a special Christmas sale on Friday Dec. 7th from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday Dec. 8th from 10 to 5 p.m.  Customers will receive a 20% discount during this 2 day sale.  As well as colourful stonewear, Scott creates wonderful lustre pieces that are to die for.

Richard Fisher Pottery at 83 York Road will also be open.  The dates are Saturday, Dec. 8th from 10 to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 9th.  Richard’s compost pots are wonderful and an excellent gift. He is offering a 10 % discount to his customers.

There you go– 3 stop shopping in Dundas.  Plan to attend and I think that you will be happy that you did.  I have created many, many new pieces for this sale.  Just think-one size fits all.  What could be easier!
