COMING UP!!

March 15, 2010 | Filed under: Uncategorized

My Spring Open House was 9 days ago-I think that I have recovered now. Thank you everyone who came out to see my Spring Collection.
It was a successful and happy 2 days for me and my wonderful friends who helped me out.
Now I am working towards my next events. The Dundas Valley School of Art Fundraising Auction is coming up April 10th with previews the 2 days before. I have a number of pieces there.
After that the Beyond the Valley Studio Tour is on Saturday and Sunday, May 29 and 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Click on the link on the right of my Home Page for map and details. Free admission to 7 studios with 14 artists, in Dundas and surrounding area (Lynden & Rockton). A great way to spend a day or week end in Dundas, which has many lovely restaurants as well as a diversity of boutiques, plus the Carnegie Gallery. There will be Studio Tour Brochures available in Dundas by the end of April-at the Carnegie Gallery, in boutiques and always at each of the studios that participate. The mailings will go out at the beginning of May. So do mark your calendar. It is a great event!! Each artist will be presenting new designs and ideas brought to life through their work. My guest Michelle Guitard is doing a series of florals. I have seen one and it is outstanding!! Scott Barnim will be presenting porcelain pieces. Pavlo Pottery will have dinner ware readily available so that it does not always need to be ordered. And we will have a new guest who creates lampwork (glass) beads for her designs (at the studio of Paull Rodrigue).
Michelle Prosek will also have sun catchers made with her fused glass in a wonderful array of colours and bowls, that are just gorgeous. Some of these were at the Royal Botanical Gardens Glass under Glass Exhibit. Paull Rodrigue was also exhibiting some of his extraordinary glass vases at the RBG Glass Under Glass show.
Terry Osborne, has new tea pots along with her usual array of wonderful pieces with beautiful glazes. And Richard Fisher continues with his black glazes on some of his pieces which I think are just remarkable, as of course are his other pieces. I have a real fondness for the glaze colours that he uses.
And I will do my usual with new gemstones that will be making a debut at the Beyond The Valley Studio Tour-May 29 & 30.
