June 6th and All is Well!

The Beyond the Valley Studio Tour was a great success! Thank you all who came out to my studio. If you purchased a piece or two of Jewellery, thank you again! I had a lot of positive comments and there were many compliments–all greatly appreciated. I thought that there were many new faces this spring and quite a few visitors from the Toronto area. The weather was fairly co-operative with just a short down pour on Saturday. My garden was full of spring blooms and greatly admired. We have a huge garden with over 200 perennials in the front of our house. The house, which was built in 1870 sits at the top of a hill. It was built as a summer home which makes sense as it is quite breezy on the porch. Once it is warm, we tend to have most of our casual meals on the porch-with a great view of the garden. One of my favourite flowers is the Beverly Sills Iris. It is a peach colour with ruffled edges. Just gorgeous and not easily available, I understand.
My next show is Huronia Festival of Arts and Crafts (at Kempenfest) in Barrie-August 2, 3 and 4. This is my first appearance at this event which has more than 300 artisans. I am looking forward to it! More details later.
Now it is time to have a bit of a rest!
